PROJECT OVERVIEW

The project has been initiated by Wageningen University, cheap DRO Amsterdam

In brief, sick Landscapes Architects started a research into the implementation of urban agriculture in post-industrial cities, with a design executed in Amsterdam Zuidoost, on top of motorway A9.

Claire Oude Aarninkhof and Minke Mulder developed the project “Productive Urban Landscapes” with less than 10 people

 

LOCATION

The project takes shape in multiple locations of the city such as roof gardens, city green space, façades, public spaces, and backyards.

 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project is already commercially established, focusing on the production of vegetables, beans and fruit, edible plants and herbs.

We usually use organic, hydroponic as growing technique(s) and we distribute our products by a local distributor, consumers buy the product in loco.

 

 

THE PROJECT AND ITS IMPLEMENTATION. PROBLEMS, NEEDS AND SOLUTIONS

In the development of the project, we encountered implementation problems, such as complex bureaucratic procedures.

In order to develop, we will need policy support.
